BreezeAIR 5Ghz PTP Radio Antenna

BreezeAIR FWA Radio Antenna LOS NLOS

BreezeAIR Your LOS and NLOS Solution for FWA

Sometimes, fiber connectivity is not an option for a business looking for internet service. In this scenario, FWA (fixed wireless access) is the alternative method of choice that gets the job done for mobile operators providing the bandwidth expected by their enterprise or small business customers.

BreezeAIR delivers the required throughput regardless of whether there is LOS (line of sight) or NLOS (non line of sight or near line of sight) back to the nearest cell tower.

Carrier Grade Stability in License Exempt Spectrum

BreezeAir combines several sophisticated mechanisms and cutting edge proprietary technology designed for interference mitigation in order to deliver true carrier class wireless links operating in 5 Ghz unlicensed spectrum for PTP networks.

BreezeAIR example of minimal wind load on existing tower

Above image illustrates the minimal wind loading impact on existing structures where tower sharing occurs and the structure owner can have very fine margins to permit an additional PTP microwave antenna on their tower.

This is one of the advantages of BreezeAIR. It is small in stature but has a powerful technological advantage over its rivals.

Meaning, BreezeAIR can go where large size and heavy Microwave units cannot go and still deliver the required throughput.

NLOS Technical Appraisal, How It Works

NLOS is not an exact science. It is impossible to predict exact NLOS results. It really depends on the insertion loss of the obstacle in the path, which depends on the obstruction itself... (example; density and length of the obstructing tree canopy) or, number of buildings and type of building materials used in its construction.

However, the BreezeAIR Path Profile tool for desktop study coupled with an experienced NLOS PTP radio link surveyor brings a degree of certainty to a science viewed as enigmatic to the purists in the telco microwave radio industry.

Telefina have successfully surveyed and installed 500+ NLOS PTP links. Each link is unique. Each link traverses a completely different RF environment. We know how to make NLOS PTP radio technology work.

Unlike in LOS, where the Fresnel zone is clear for every link (meaning the PTP link is predictable for the given distance), in NLOS no two links will have the same obstruction.

In general, BreezeAIR in an NLOS PTP system is via reflections and multipath.

During NLOS survey, when choosing FE, we do extensive work to identify the path of least RF resistance. The survey is the most important part of NLOS link assessment and Telefina have devised processes that give good NLOS results.

On the odd occasion of an instance of uncertainty for an NLOS survey, then an NLOS simulation can be conducted to establish the certainty required before installation. The occurrence of NLOS PTP link uncertainty where a simulation is required is very low, below 3% of a rollout of 1,000 links.

BreezeAIR NLOS view from behind antenna with tree blockage

Above, Typical view from behind BreezeAIR antenna with tree blockage.

Majority of small to medium sized businesses are in one storey up to four storey buildings. Therefore the building height is low, meaning it is highly likely that a clear LOS cannot be established to the nearest mobile operator cell tower. This is where a sound business case for BreezeAIR NLOS FWA steps into the void to provide the required internet service.

Although BreezeAIR outperforms its rivals in NLOS RF environment, it also excels as a LOS FWA solution for DIA.

BreezeAIR has been successfully deployed for LTE backhaul in a PTP LOS RF environment and has proven its flexibility as a reliable connectivity solution as a PTP (Point-to-Point) and PTMP (Point-to-Multipoint) for both Public & Private Enterprises.
